"Refusal of emergency outpatient and emergency care"

About: Worthing Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I am a very ill man, who has been refused treatment by the NHS for years, I have multiple health problems, most of which affected me after a negligent surgeon injected me with a steroid that had been advised would cause a terrible interaction with my HIV medication, this gave me a sustained steroid overdose that lasted for 14 days, otherwise known as Iatrogenic Cushions Syndrome.

The NHS, instead of treating me for the collapse in my health that they caused, as been refusing me any outpatient care at all, this involves the whole of the NHS (multiple trusts).

In late August this year, I was extremely unwell with the symptoms of Adrenal Crisis, which I had been warned about when I was hospitalised after my overdose years before (2015).

Then I was very sick and was bedridden for 4-5 days. I also lost half a stone in weight. Once I had recovered enough, I called 111 for advice, as I had been refused care at Worthing Hospital. 111 put me through to a doctor that knee about Adrenal problems, she said I needed emergency care and called an ambulance for me. When I arrived at A & E I was waiting for help for 3 hours. When a doctor saw me she said that A & E do not deal with Adrenal problems, and they could do nothing more for me.

I was distraught, and had to hobble home with my walking stick, in tears, after being unable to eat for days and being very unwell.

The public need to be warned that if you are ill because of a NHS mistake, you could have all care denied. The Adrenal Crises that I suffer can cause coma or death. I am being abandoned to the point of possible death by the NHS, who actually caused my health problems – Multi Joint Hypertrophic arthritis, pre-diabetes, Bilateral Necrosis of hips, an Auto Immune disease and Periosteal Uptake (something related to bone lesions).

The public should be warned that if they are damaged by an NHS mistake, they could be refused all care.
