"My stay in hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I was admitted via a and e following emergency 999 call from me. Paramedics were brilliant when they arrived and took the time to check me out thoroughly before taking me to hospital I.e ecg, blood pressure etc. They then took me to a and e. I didn't have to wait too long before I was trialed further.

I was in a lot of pain when I got there and the staff tried to cheer me up as much as they could. It would have been nice to have a regular supply of water as I was feeling so dehydrated. However I know how busy a and e are.

Once on the ward I felt more relaxed. All the staff on the ward were brilliant even when they were short staffed.

After my op I was having trouble sleeping and a staff member very kindly made me some toast and a cuppa. Much appreciated.

Thank you to all staff x

Thank you for sharing your experience with, you raise an important point with regards to being offered water. We have seen a rise in demand and the Emergency Department has become a lot busier as a result we are increasing the hostess provision so to improve refreshments being offered to patients.

I hope you are making a good recovery at home
