As a carer to my son I was given the opportunity to attend the Diabetes Prevention Programme on his behalf.
The programme has given me a good knowledge of diabetes and the negative impact it can have on your health and well being.
I thought my son had a good healthy diet but while attending the programme I soon realised a number of changes were needed.
I was taught so much about food content, techniques and given many tips. This persuaded me to make various changes to our meal plans.
Resulting from this I am delighted to say, my sons blood sugar level and cholesterol have steadily dropped and he is no longer in the ‘pre diabetic’ range.
SMALL changes have made a HUGE difference to my sons health both now and for the future.
Had I not been able to attend the programme on my sons behalf his health would certainly have deteriorated.
