"Cramlington hospital"

About: North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had to call an ambulance during an extreme migraine, I have both long qt syndrome which is a heart problem along with an implanted defibrillator and I'm also a type 1 diabetic.

I can suffer a cardiac arrest at any time, due to the migraine, I was vomiting, I couldn't keep anything including water down, my sugars were dropping & I felt very unwell.

The ambulance arrived, and as always were absolutely fantastic, amazing people.

They advised taking me to be checked over due to my underlying illnesses and the vomiting, I was unsure as I've had issues with this particular hospital before but I was also scared of being really poorly at home so reluctantly I went.

I was kept in a corridor for well over an hour were I witnesses staff  making fun of an elderly gentleman as he had soiled himself.

A member of staff passed screwed their face up, pegged their nose with their fingers and laughed!!!

I was horrified. Then I was put in a side room were I was left for hours on end feeling just dreadful wanting to just get out but scared.

I went to the toilet were I was met with 4 small blue tablets on the floor, I came out and gave them to a staff member who was mortified and couldn't get rid of them quick enough, it was disgusting.

I had an extremely bad stomach and I couldn't stay off the loo.

8 hours later I was at my wits end I was almost ready to pass out as I'm diabetic and I'd been unable to eat or drink for hours.

I couldn't take no more and stated I wanted to leave. After that a doc came in, prescribed me anti sickness and I asked how I was going to get home as I'd no no money. No one to help me & I said I'd have to walk from Cramlington to Ashington. The doctor asked the nurse could they not sort me transport they said no!!!

I was sent out of that place at 8am in dirty PJs and a rain mac. No money, no purse, no bank card nothing.

I was made to feel like rubbish, suffering from severe depression and anxiety I seriously will not go to hospital ever again this is the 2nd time this hospital has not treat me like a human. I'll never let them make me feel this way again.
