Our mum arrived at Ward B5 (Beatson) to start her radiotherapy in August, she was terrified. Not because of her diagnosis, or her impending treatment- as she had been there before (over 30 years ago, but she remembered it well).
What was really scaring her was the way she had been treated in another hospital recently, and being a fiercely independent lady of 82 she didn't like to have to depend on anyone - but having also suffered a stroke she needed to be supported. As her youngest daughter I was also really reluctant to leave her in the care of the team in B5, and sought reassurance several times before leaving her that 1st day.
What I want to feedback is mum could not have been in better hands! She was so well looked after - which we knew within her very 1st day- that it was 1 less thing to worry about.
We cannot thank Ward B5 in Beatson enough for their dedication and care of our mum. Every single team member were absolute professionals in every aspect of their work.
Thank you to all the people who work in Ward B5, providing the vest best of care and attention to some of the most vulnerable people in need of support. You should all be very proud.
"Our brave mum & her brilliant team in Ward B5"
