"I feel lost and unsure where to go"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I reluctantly decided to go to A and E Hairmyers yesterday, I have had long term  mental health issues and just feel I have had no help.or support wherever I turn.

It felt like a last resort to seek help but although the nurses and doctors were nice enough, I felt noone really heard my concerns and felt dismissed. I understand I dont have a physical illness but I just need help with my mental health and my GP is uninterested. A&E wasn't the place to go as I am no further forward and have not been signposted for any further help. I feel lost and unsure where to go.

Dear robinmk83

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience. Coping with long term mental health issues can be debilitating and isolating. I am sorry to hear that you felt dismissed in the emergency department and feel lost with no where to turn.

I would like to offer you some guidance and therefore ask that you phone the patient affairs team on 01355 585345 to provide more details.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Lise
