"Exceptional care from Aberdeen maternity unit."

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

The day after a hassle free & smooth birth, I was due to be discharged but unfortunately I became unwell and on examination by one of the midwives it seemed I was bleeding out and after 35 mins of trying to help the bleeding it was decided to call in back up of medical staff for further examination , the emergency buzzer was pressed & medical staff attended my room.

I was whisked down to labour ward from recovery & they tried to use a spectrum to scrape away and help release the blood clots & blockage , this was unsuccessful and I was told I needed an epidural so they could go in and help shift the problem in my womb.

All the staff that attended to me on that day, were exceptional, I felt safe in their hands the entire time, I was anxious & scared but was made to feel reassured by all staff.

I can’t thank everyone enough who looked after me at Aberdeen Maternity hospital , I am forever grateful.

Dear Mumofboys44,

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch, this must have been such an anxious and scary time for you and your family.

The staff looking after you acted quickly and professionally and they will be delighted that you recognised their efforts and this will be passed on to them.

May I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind Regards

Liz
