I had a colonoscopy where a cancerous polyp was removed. Due to a lack of sufficient evidence I needed to return to have keyhole surgery whereby a part of my colon was removed.
Overall, the medical service was excellent and the care and attention to my physical wellbeing by the staff in Surgical 2 of the Causeway Hospital was second to none.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their dedication and their professionalism throughout my 7 days in hospital.
In terms of suggesting any improvements in PURELY the administration process, I would recommend that there should be consideration given to providing feedback to patients as they wait for a surgery appointment. A feedback of even no change is better than no feedback at all and would cut down the number of phone calls that NHS staff would have to respond to from patients awaiting appointments.
