After a good care story on ward 51 Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy the whole experience was turned on its head by one person with an unhelpful attitude. This staff member, despite the evidence in my case notes of chronic spinal damage, decided I was able to be independent and should be living as such. The result was I had three bad falls. One resulting in broken ribs, one in skull damage and the third in a suspect broken nose.

These have set back my medical progress and affected my confidence. I am more than angry, I am incandescent at this treatment. I want this raised directly with the staff involved.

As the Senior Charge Nurse in Ward 51, I was saddened to hear about this poor experience in the Ward however I have had a long chat with the patient and we have resolved some of the worries he had. His condition is now improving and he hopes to be home soon. I would like to wish him all the best in his recovery.
