"Great Service at the North Devon District Hospital"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

3 weeks ago was taken to NDDH by ambulance with excruciating pain on lower left side for 3 days - 36 hours later I was back at home pain free, no medication and feeling extremely well, all thanks to our wonderful NHS and particularly The Department of Urology at the Hospital.

From the moment I arrived at A&E the service received was second to none, with everyone working as a team to first find out the cause and then resolve the problem with an instant successful operation. All the staff I met were highly motivated/dedicated to their particular roles & responsibilities, with a clear understanding of what makes a good working team.  Some would say I may have been lucky, but this experience left me in total awe of such a wonderfully efficient and caring Medical & Support Team.  During my short stay I was privileged to witness the same level of care given to all other patients in the ward, so a very big WELL DONE to the Team from a humbled satisfied patient.

I have worked in the NHS for over 35 years as a senior Medical Secretary in various specialties. I currently work in the Urology Department providing PA services to the clinical team.

Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to leave such lovely feedback. I am sorry that your condition necessitated an emergency admission to NDDH but I am, however, very pleased that you found the care you received from A&E through to the Urology department to be "second to none". It is always great when patients wish to praise our staff and the services we provide and I will be sure to pass on your comments to the relevant teams.
