Ten years ago when our daughter was first diagnosed with Crohn’s disease I really didn’t know which way to face. As a family, having our child follow my path with Crohn’s was just something we had never considered. The IBD nurses at the children’s hospital didn’t try to sugar coat how difficult a liquid diet was or try to tell me everything was going to be fine but undoubtedly they made the whole process easier. They were all so friendly and easy to chat to that each time we were coming along to clinic we knew there would be a friendly face. As a parent I can’t put into words how much I appreciated that! Then, a few years later, our son was embarking on the same journey. This was a hard time for us however, knowing that the IBD nurses would all be walking the road with us was a comfort. Knowing that when I needed advice they would always get back to me - even if my questions were strange. We can’t put into words how much you have helped us, thank you.
