"Lax and incompetent first response at surgery "

About: Park Lane Practice

My partner had been in excruciating pain from a flash headache. Started Thursday night with a cricked neck, vomiting, back pain. Sunday, I sent online request for assistance to the surgery. Monday morning, I called the surgery desperately asking for a home visit. I was told to wait until the receptionist could see the doctor. I waited an hour. The receptionist didn't call back. Called 111, filled in a form, and was told to told to ring for an ambulance. Waited all day until 5 pm. the same day (i understand it was not high on the emergency callout list. They explained, so we waited. ) No communication from my surgery all day. My partner in agony - went to A&E in desperate pain in taxi. A&E kept him in that night and next days. He has had a CT scan, lumbar puncture, angiogram to the brain, and other tests. He is still in RVI in Newcastle a week later.

My surgery of 30 years, (it used to be a great surgery, but sadly all those staff left) just couldn't be bothered. Receptionist was inept, incompetent, bored and out of her depth. Did nothing, and didn't seem to understand anything either. Another rude receptionist answered later - 'well it's not my fault, it wasn't me". How unprofessional and a waste of time. This is the calibre of this practice. I'd give it a miss if i were you.
