"Fantastic Care received in Trauma"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been in the Trauma ward for a few weeks now and I honestly could not have received any better care elsewhere. The staff are kind, friendly and patient. I can’t sing their praises enough. The staff are fantastic but they are run of their feet, I feel that more staff would help ease the pressure on the staff as they it’s too much pressure for them. Although they would never admit it and they handle to pressure very well.

The physio’s are very encouraging and motivating. The Doctor has been informing my husband and has been involving my husband in arranging my package of care which is important as it is his home too so I don’t want him to feel uncomfortable. It really is the little things in life that makes a difference.

This is lovely to read about your experience within our Trauma service. The staff will be thrilled to hear that you found them kind, friendly and patient. This is certainly the standard we strive for and it is really appreciated that this has been noted. We are very aware our teams are working under exceptional pressure, and a few more staff would certainly help with the busy workload. We are delighted to hear that our medical teams have been including your husband in your treatment, we respect the importance of ensuring relatives are fully informed, especially at this time when visiting is so restricted. We wish you well on your recovery and hope that you get home soon
