"My time in Charlecote Ward"

About: Warwick Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

Having spent 3-4 days in Oken I was moved to Charlecote Ward. I was first placed in a side room, (with TV) because unfortunately I had horrendous diarrhea and had to be isolated. The ladies were fantastic and did things for me that no-one should have to do for non-family members.

I was then moved to Bay C, a 4 bed single sex ward. I lady suffering severe dementia, another recovering from a problem after her kidney transplant, and the final lady had had a fall like me and  was there to recover. I was in a window bed which would have been lovely , except they were so dirty on the outside you could hardly see through it.

The nurses, support staff, trainees were absolutely fantastic. Everyone had a great sense of humour and had a good laugh with the ladies. Even the lady who took the food orders was a laugh and very helpful. Being a picky eater but knowing you have to eat to get better. The food was not bad with hi-lites here and there. The meatballs in tomato sauce were spectacular.

All in all I cannot fault my stay here, even the doctors have a great sense of humour and put you at ease by explaining everything to you. Although not a place I would choose, it was a great stay in Warwick Hospital.
