"Finding out I'm autistic"

About: Intellectual Developmental Disabilities /Learning Disability Services - Community / Neurodevelopmental Specialist Service

(as a service user),

I feel good. Explains a lot of the things I have always found difficult. Realised when I probably was at about 13/14 but only found out a week before I went to uni. They treated me with respect and listened and at no point did i feel belittled or infantilised. just a really nice team of people who listened and cared.

Thank you for feeding back your experience of NeSS. We are pleased to hear that your assessment was a positive experience and that you feel respected and listened to. We often find that people have been aware of their differences for a long time, and diagnosis can be a positive and helpful explanation. Good luck with university.
