"1 hour per week just wasn't enough"

About: Adult Mental Health Services / Eastvale Resource Centre & Day Hosp

(as a service user),

I have been in metal health system since I was 19 due to Agoraphobia, Depression OCD etc. My G.P. contacted Eastvale in Rutherglen Primary Care Centre in an attempt to attain assistance for me to get out of the house. Their response was that I should stick with the one hour per week of help which I was receiving from the charity The Richmond Fellowship! After 30 years of Agoraphobia, 1 hour per week just wasn't enough!

Hi dpscotland,

I'm sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with the response and advice provided to you in managing the mental issues you've mentioned. I don't know the details of your referral and would suggest you initially contact the Community Mental Health Team's Nurse Team Leader at Eastvale Resource Centre on 01698 754100 who you can discuss this with.

thanks

Michael

Update posted by dpscotland (a service user)

As far as I am concerned, the Mental Health System has been of no help to me whatsoever.

I have lost out on the last 30 years of my life! I will sort out my my agoraphobia by myself.

I think the trouble with Mental Health Services is, no-one ever asks me as a patient whether we actually feel better after receiving treatment. I have never met anyone who has.
