"Disappointing experience "

About: Wycombe Hospital

We had a paediatric appointment for our one year old daughter that proved to be disappointing in many ways.

Firstly, the Hospital is 20 miles away from our place, but we took it anyway as we thought the hospital close to us might be very busy and tried to be understanding. Secondly, just one day before our initial appointment, we received a call and we have been asked to book for another day as there are no paediatricians available. We accepted that as well, and my partner had to miss a very important meeting at work just to drive us to hospital and be there. The experience itself was very bad as we felt like our concerns have not been treated professionally and we we both struggled to understand the doctor. As a family of migrants ourselves we are more than understanding when it comes to cultural/ accent/ language differences but this was really bad as we both struggled to understand the paediatrician. Moreover, one would expect a doctor to have decent communication skills and be able to provide clear arguments when dismissing parental concerns and we believe the doctor failed to do so. As a result we will definitely go for a second opinion with our concerns.

We really regret accepting this appointment as we feel it was a waste of time and gas to attend.
