"Emergency waiting rooms suggestion"

About: Mater Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

Recently visited emergency, as my wife didn't feel good. As emergency is famous on extra long waiting hours, we've got a suggestion.  Why are people forced to wait in small room for someone to call in? It would be way more comfortable and safer to have notification system to mobile phones once someone ready to be seen. This will allow to wait outside, let's say car park, or just anywhere nearby. This potentially can help reduce virus spreading as well.

Thank you for taking the time to make a suggestion on how we can improve our services to you. I am really sorry to hear of your very long wait in our emergency department. I sincerely hope your wife is feeling better and that despite this you were very happy with the Medical and Nursing care your wife received with us while in the Mater A&E department.

I totally agree with your suggestion. Our A&E waiting room is small and we will take this on for further discussion. We had chatted previously about Patients calling ahead and being given an allocated time to arrive.. In this way Patients could wait at home in the comfort of their own living room. We will look at how this can be addressed safely.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us and we will strive to improve our service to you. Take care.
