"Endoscopy at whiteabbey - a fabulous job"

About: Whiteabbey Hospital / Endoscopy Services

(as a service user),

Today I attended for a colonoscopy at white abbey hospital, NHSCT. When I arrived there was a delay due to a mix up in the rota for endoscopists. The nurses managed it admirably. They were open and honest with everyone on the list and the predicted delays. It was evident they worked very hard to catch up on time and managed to get everyone through without any cancellations. My thanks to nurse endoscopist Andrew who patiently listened to my concerns, explained the procedure and sensitively managed the whole procedure… one which I dreaded and have avoided for years… but he made the whole difficult process much easier. My sincerest thanks to the nurses on admission, through to the nurses in theatre and then in recovery. You are all doing a fabulous job

Good Morning Our story,

My name is Leigh and I am the Patient Experience Facilitator for the NHSCT. First of all please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.

As the facilitator, it is my job to ensure that staff are trained and have access to the site. I have completed training with the Endoscopy teams now and will have a response from them soon. They will be over the moon to read such positive feedback.

Best Wishes,

Leigh
