I post this on behalf of my wife who is now in floods of tears.
Today she received a call from ENT Inpatients to cancel her operation for a 2nd time because there is no theatre staff. Now the Surgeon (her surgeon) as we speak is in theatre doing surgery.
She is angry and upset as now this is the 2nd time she has had to take time off work and arrange childcare work commitments and aftercare arrangements, for the hospital to cancel less than 24 hours before the surgery is due. 3 years she has been waiting now, and to get to less than 24 hours prior and they cancel again.
When I have contacted NHS Tayside for a name of someone to contact they can't give me any info and say I have to email into a generic email address and response will be 5 working days stage 1. The complaints department has been a WASTE of time as all they say is I don't know, I won't know that, and so on.
Please do not use coronavirus as a get-out. We have been told the space is there but that they don't have the staff. Really.
