"CBT for Anxiety"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I have had a really sad and rough last few years and didn't realise how anxious I had become because of this and how much this was affecting my life and day to day thinking and living. I self-referred (by accident actually!) for help and support from Inclusion Thurrock and have just completed 3 months of CBT training with a wonderful Therapist called Kelly. She was amazing and listened to me - no matter how small and insignificant my worries seemed - never judged me but gave me the tools to get better and live a less anxious life! I had heard good reports about CBT but didn't know how it worked. I can highly recommend Inclusion Thurrock's services and would say to anyone who is sceptical or worried about having therapy - don't be! It can only help you and - in my experience - made me realise that I had been suffering from anxiety for a lot longer than I thought! Don't put off the decision to have therapy - it really does help and all the staff at Inclusion Thurrock are amazing and so wonderful.

Dear Sagittariuswd89,

Thank you for sharing your experience within our service and for your kind words.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a sad and rough few years but I am so pleased that you did reach out to our service, even if it was an accident. It sounds like you worked really hard within your sessions to overcome and manage your anxieties and thus, you should be very proud of yourself.

It is normal to have these worries, it doesn’t matter how small and insignificant they seem. We just need to be given the tools in order to help manage them.

I hope that your experience with inclusion encourages other people to reach out and get the help that they need too.

I wish you all the best for the future,

Ellie O’Shea
