"Fantastic surgeon and staff on Ward 7 at Good Hope Hospital"

About: Good Hope Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I was admitted in September to Ward 7 with a blocked bowel as I suffer from Crohn’s Disease. This was not the first time I had been admitted, before the blockages had cleared.

This time I was in trouble, my bowel was completely blocked so Mr ‘fantastic’ Raju and his team performed open bowel surgery……..successfully, no need for Hetty the stoma!

I stayed on Ward 7 for 10 nights and the treatment I had was second to none. Wonderful knowledgeable staff regarding my condition.

Thank you to everyone, you are all amazing. I am recovering well 😀

Dear Janice

We are delighted to hear about the second to none care and treatment you received; particularly the attention showed and the way you felt reassured by staff which has helped to lessen your fears. Your kind words have been forwarded to the senior staff responsible for the department so they can share with their team members. Feedback like this is greatly valued as staff love to hear they have made such a positive difference.

Kindest regards, Patient Experience Team
