"Help when I needed it most"

I met with an amazing guy called Adrian at CGL in Wisbech to discuss my drinking issues... 

I wasn't sure what to expect from this session - I'm quite guarded and put up a big front - he saw straight through that - let me relax, let me talk, and listened.... He didn't criticise or make me feel anything negative, his care and compassion was amazing (along with his sense of humour) :)

I left that meeting feeling like a different person - full of hope and self belief  - he has been encouraging me ever since... 

Today, I attended my first group session ' Retrain ya Brain' - again, I wasn't sure what to expect - I met the MOST amazing people there - we are all fighting our own demons - but as the 'newby' - I was welcomed with open arms, and I felt at home and safe - and able to be honest - something I haven't been able to do for a long time  (until Tuesday, with Adrian)- and it also made me realise that I wasn't alone - that in itself was like a big hug and reassurance.

My only regret..... I wish I'd met Adrian and done this years ago.....
