"Poor follow up with scan results"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

Sitting here for over 2 hours waiting for an oncologist to ring with my lung cancer follow up scan which I had 3 weeks ago. The anxiety when results are due is extremely high and I have had 10 follow up scans in 4 years, living 6 months at a time.

Prior to Covid appointments were face to face, still now in late Sept 2021 they are by telephone yet even that doesn’t seem to be happening.

I rang oncology and got put through, no one there so leave a message which I did. When I hung up I’d been transferred to the GUM clinic for sexually transmitted diseases. You couldn’t make this up and it is appalling service for someone whose life revolves around whether or not a scan is going to prolong their life or not.

I don’t even have an oncologist as I have seen or spoken to a different person every time which hardly encourages rapport, kindness and hope, part of which is from the Hippocratic Oath which I think they could all do a refresher course in
