"A massive thank you to services"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / General Medicine (2 south) Craigavon Area Hospital / Older People Assessment Unit Gilford Health Centre Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency Control

(as a service user),

I would like to say a massive thank you to the ED team in CAH, our local Gilford GP surgery who have worked throughout this pandemic, the very helpful ambulance control and attending paramedics as well as the staff within the wards who cared for our 76 year old Dad twice over the last month.   Cancer, chemo & subsequently Covid had us all fearing the worst but due to the care given by these staff whose job is relentless at the minute he is home and although very tired and weak he is slowly recovering. Our family are extremely appreciative of all your efforts and having witnessed first hand the extreme pressure you are under a thank you seems so inadequate but its all we have. You are all doing your best within a system that often seems to be failing its staff but, yet one we would all be worse off without. We hope you all stay safe and thank you again for your all that you do.

Dear whibsib

Thank you for such a heartfelt and glowing compliment towards both our service and the NHS in general.

Covid 19 has made life extremely difficult for people the world over but has had an extremely detrimental effect on the elderly and most vulnerable within our communities.

It is extremely humbling to hear how grateful your family is for the services provided and I am delighted that the ambulance service played its part.

I hope your dad continues to make good progress in his recovery.

Take care and stay safe

Amanda
