I
am currently receiving chemo treatment so when I arrived at A&E the
nursing staff gave me a private room straight away as my immune system weak.
I did have to move out of that room for a Covid-19 positive patient but the nurses
ensured that my curtains in the bay were pulled to protect me. I was in
A&E for about 12 hours as I had to wait to get a bed in the ward. The staff in
A&E were lovely and looked after me well. I did have a long wait for a
bed in the ward but that was out of the nurses control.
The staff in 1 East
are cheerful and have created a calming atmosphere within the ward. All staff
from domestics, catering, porters, HCA, Nurses, Physio, Doctors are amazing and take the
time to get to know me as a person and not just my wants or needs. The doctors
and nurses are good at clarifying my treatment and very accommodating to my
needs. I am fortunate to have my own room within the ward but my bathroom is
interlinked with another bedroom and I think that sharing a bathroom in the 21st
century is inappropriate especially a female sharing with a male but this is
out of the nurse’s control. I feel that this objectifies my dignity.
"Unhappy with sharing bathroom"
