"Help with my MND"

About: Specialist Nursing Services / Community Matrons, Nottingham West

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed in February 2021 at the age of 55 with Bulbar MND. It was a huge shock to myself, my husband and our 6 children. I was assigned my community nurse. She has been amazing. She comes to my house on a monthly basis and weighs me etc. We talk about concerns, things I have been doing and she always listens and helps me to sort out any medication etc.Gives me ideas to help with any issues raised. My husband doesn't cope very well and it's good to have someone who isn't directly involved and is impartial doesn't get upset etc.
