We attended a cancer review appointment today at the outpatients department of the Cancer Centre BCH. This is the first face-to-face appointment my mum has had since Covid-19 started to impact on services in March 2020.
We were welcomed into the office by Dr Devlin and the Cancer Specialist Nurse Aldrina. This was one of the most thorough and empathetic consultations that my mum has had over the several years of this cancer diagnosis and treatment. I felt that our experiences were listened to and we experienced complete person centred care. Every aspect of my mum's life was listened to with compassion. Explanations of scan results were given and care options outlined.
I wanted to express my gratitude for the time taken and for the exemplary care shown to us today.
"Exemplary cancer care experience"
