"Vast improvement at the Cancer Center Edinburgh"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology

(as a service user),

I was impressed with the mass of information I left the cancer centre with, my first experience information 10 or so years ago was very different and information was very thin on the ground.

I was also given contact numbers,  again this did not happen 10 years ago, in fact once you stepped out of the cancer centre you were considered your GP's responsibility which was ridiculous as cancer is a specialist medical issue.

Still room for improvement though, I was sent a form to fill in supplying information that NHS Lothian already has and then some.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back your experience at the Cancer Centre. Its good to hear of the improvements between your previous and current experience, I have passed your comments to the Clinical Management Team.

If you would like to discuss anything further please make contact through the Patient Experience Team who will ensure your enquiry goes to the right team
