I was an inpatient at the QEUH in GGC in ward 10c for surgery on an Achilles tendon repair.
The staff who dealt with me were all excellent and helpful. I would like to thank Shannon who was my Anaesthetist. Her kind and caring nature was amazing and put my mind at rest when I was a bit anxious and apprehensive. She was very informative but more importantly for me, she was human and gave me time to ask questions and was in no way rushed.
I would also particularly like to thank charge nurse Ritchie from Ward 10c. He dealt with me from booking-in to discharge. The continuity of care he provided was a real positive for me. His blend of humour and kindness was exactly what I needed post surgery.
He is an absolute asset to the nursing profession, the NHS and the Orthopaedic department in the QEUH. His personality, kindness and calming nature helped me. He stayed beyond his shift finishing to give me my final treatment / injection so I could go home that evening. He went above and beyond. It's always easy to post negative reviews but this was a truly positive experience thanks to all the staff that dealt with me. The catering and Auxiliary staff in ward 10c were lovely as well.
I was also delighted to be operated on so quickly by Mr Carter who did an excellent job.
Thanks to all at QEUH
