"A&E care."

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I had a sever abscess in my mouth and was in incredible pain. After unsuccessful attempts with NHS24 the pain was unbearable so I decided to make my way up to A& E. even though it was about 4am I was seen immediately and triaged by nurse Lynda. She was absolutely amazing, she listened to me and reassured me in my panicked state that everything was going to be ok. I could tell I was in expert hands and she guided me through everything so  professionally. I felt completely safe for the first time in a medical environment and I can’t thank her enough for sorting me out so quickly. I Later saw the doctor and she was equally lovely, so kind and compassionate and so professional. I really felt in safe hands and I was treated so well. We are so lucky to have our NHS and Nurse Lynda made me feel ever luckier, as I’m sure she does with all her patients. Thank you!

Dear Tcall,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to read that you had been unwell, and hope that you are now fully recovered.

I note from your feedback that you tried to contact NHS 24 but were unsuccessful. I would be keen to understand what happened at the time of your call(s) to NHS 24. Could I ask you to contact me at patient.experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk and provide me with your details? This will allow me to arrange for a full review of your contact with NHS 24. I would be grateful if you would include your Care Opinion username in your email.

It sounds as though Lynda provided you with superb care, and it was great to read that you were so well treated.

Thank you again for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Dear Tcall

I would like to thank you on behalf of all the staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to the time you spent in A&E.

It was great to hear how Lynda and the staff were able to put your mind at ease throughout and was able to reassure you in what must have been an anxious time for you and the family.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to Lynda and the team who I'm sure will be touched to hear your comments.

Please take care and stay safe

Kind regards

Kevin

Update posted by Tcall (the patient)

Thanks very much Andrew & Kevin. Yes that would be lovely if you could pass that on, I can’t emphasise enough how much their wonderful care helped me. I didn’t catch the name of the Max Fax doctor that night, I’d love to know and for you to pass on my huge gratitude to her too.

Thanks very much

Tcall
