I feel totally let down by the whole NHS system, my face is so damaged I don't want to go out, let alone not being able to as I cannot find an SPF to stop burning and swelling.
I was prescribed Potent steroid creams with a warning not to go out, even on cloudy days without a strong SPF cover. My facial skin is severely damaged, I requested a recommendation for an SPF as I can only purchase cover from the make up department, nothing over the counter for damaged skin. I was told there was nothing Dermatology could recommend. Surely this is not okay when the prescribed creams are so strong. I've had severe eczema for 18 months, I have only been prescribed steroid creams leaving my face in urgent need of SPF cover to go outside in any temperature. I have purchased 6 different over the counter SPF brands, all aggravate my skin and make the itching and redness worse.
I am at a complete loss as to how I can protect my skin when I go out. If I do not cover my face swells. I am in a no win situation. At my age I need to be able to do my 30 minutes of exercise/10,000 steps daily to keep myself mobile, active and independent
