"No pain management"

About: The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust

I was referred here and had a telephone consultation with one of your pain consultants/anaesthetists to get my pain under control supposedly but he has not offered me any help or referred me for the IV line I was supposed to have done as I have tried everything else and others with my condition/syndrome and issues have this IV line and have had great results and I wish to try it too. I will never know if it works or not if I do not even get referred to try it to begin with! However, my voice was never heard once or was just denied the right treatment and am still in exactly the same pain and situation as I was before even being referred to your pain doctor. What is the point of them if they just leave us with the same pain and no treatment and no referrals to the right people? Please refer me to get the treatment I need instead of this constant wrong discharging back to GP as GP cannot help which is why he referred me here in the first place! Yet again I have been neglected and failed when I needed help the most. The stress of all this is really harming me too and am not sleeping as a result too, alongside untreated pain. The community pain management consultants have even told me I need to be seen again here and get referred for the IV line/vascular access line as they cannot offer anything else now to me and I need more interventional way to address the very severe incurable pain I have. They were unhappy too with how I have been not treated properly here and should not have been just discharged back to GP without addressing the issue and also talking to and fully involving me in all of it. It is my body and I am the one at the end of the day who has to live or more like exist with the consequences of the total lack of treatment. I cannot keep going on living like this anymore and need this line, please. I was told by your vascular consultant that it is in interventional radiology that they do these and that I need or should have been referred there for my veins to be assessed and get this sorted but this has still not been done and after many months since I talked to the pain doctor over the phone which was in July. Why do your doctors keep wrongly discharging untreated patients back to their GP who cannot help them? None of this makes sense. Why can I not get access to the services I pay tax for and should be able to be treated fairly? Please could you look into this and get me referred for this line in interventional radiology as I am happy to accept the risks that come with it, like anything, and am educated already on these and these risks are uncommon and are treatable if they do happen and I would actually really be grateful for the chance to get one put in and get my life back from this miserable existence. On the phone the pain consultant at Telford even told me he recommended a Hickman line rather than a PICC line if my veins are not suitable for PICC line but this would need assessing via ultrasound.
