"Awaiting appointment"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gastroenterology General practices in Ayrshire & Arran University Hospital Ayr / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

My mum has been unwell. GP referred for ops scope as an emergency, still not done. Scope can only be done after a gastro appointment I called the GP all have been requested as urgent I called the gasto departments who have it as urgent and that it has been passed to appointments. I called them and told an appointment would be in a few weeks. This has now been months and not heard a thing. Utter shocking service, just hoping there's not something sinister going on that’s been left untreated. Which with the symptoms I worry it could well be.

Thank you for posting your feedback, I appreciate this is a very worrying time for you and your Mum and recognise that the waiting time for appointments and investigations is compounding the situation.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further and please feel free to contact me either by email, linda.russell7@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or by phone on 01563 826210. In the meantime, if you feel that your Mum's condition is worsening I would encourage you to contact her general practitioner.

With best wishes,

Linda
