"Awful and useless service"

About: Wulstan Unit

If you need mental health support such as therapy , do not go through Healthy Minds, they are an appauling service.

I was left to languish on a 3 year waiting list, I rung HM-Worcestershire many times over the last 24 months to check my status on their waiting list, only to be met with confused staff members who had no clue about what they were doing, eventually I got through to their manager of the Malvern office he told me that.. It turned out my inital records had got "lost in the system"... after this massive mess up . I had to wait another year before being told I had to take a webinar on youtube before even being offered any sort of support.

I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress , Anxiety and Depression. I have been holding on by a thread, waiting for the promise of proper therapy .

After completing the webinar which was 20+ hours long, I then got an email saying I would have wait to get a review of my mental health.

I was telephoned 2 weeks ago to book in for this review, I selected a date suitable yet the clinican cancelled on me twice so we arranged.

I had a phone call today from HM-Worcestershire , she started by saying she could NOT offer me 1-1 counselling albeit HM Worcestershire's website says it is avaliable.

I explained I have suffered delibating trauma and all that could be offered was a course explaining trauma and it would not be a place that I could offset my trauma, this course would also be within a group setting.

I feel completely let down by their service , I explained to her over and over that the course would not be suitable and I had been told it would be 1-1 by many members of the HM- team .

I have been left with no choice, I declined the course and immediately went back to their website to see what they offered , as the woman on the phone had said they had NOT been doing 1-1 therapy for quite some time.

The slogan on their website says in bold "LETS PREVENT SUICIDE" I can tell you that through my experience this is not what they will provide, they can't offer help to vulnerable people in crisis The website does in fact say they offer 1-1 counselling but it is not the case.

I am deeply angered and disappointed as I will have to find my own support which I wish I had known 3 years ago .

Please avoid this service like the plague, your only option is private counselling but your GP and HM wont say that to you, they will string you along for years jumping through their hoops.

Disgusting service , your letting hundreds and hundreds of people down .

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the Worcestershire Healthy Minds service. I am very sorry to hear that you have had such a negative experience of our services.

Following your referral to services I would like to offer you our apologies that there was an error regarding your status on the waiting list and that you had to wait an additional 12 months before receiving any input from the service.

I have shared your feedback with the manager of the service. I would also like to offer you the opportunity to share your concerns with us, so that we can look into this for you. We really hope you feel able to contact our Patient Relations Team on either 01905 681517 or by email to WHCNHS.PALS@nhs.net.
