"My experience A&E of CAH"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I came in to the hospital recently via A&E which was very busy, I was waiting for an extremely long time in a lot of pain. Although I received pain relief my wait was still very uncomfortable and I wasn't updated as to how long I was going to be waiting for. When I eventually was seen the staff couldn't do enough for me and the ensured all my needs were met as best they could do.  This emergency department is so understaffed and needs huge changes made as the long wait most definitely compromises patient care. Although medical and nursing teams are extremely competent and I cannot fault their care in the slightest.

Thank you for your lovely comments. The medical and nursing team do their upmost to provide excellent treatment and care despite being under immense pressure. With regards to waiting times, the hospital is very busy at present and we are working to improve the experience for patients.
