About: Crosshouse Hospital Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

Last week I tried to take my own life and someone called the paramedics who were amazing with me a would like to thank them but when we got to the hospital the nurse was horrible their attitude was bad I then asked to use the toilet when I was in the side room so the nurse said no a gave me a bed pan I asked for privacy they refused and expected me to stand at the bit where all the nurses were and do the toilet I have never been so belittled in my life and these are the people thats meant to help you.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I appreciate that this has been a very distressing time for you and I am sorry that your impression of our service has been such a poor one. We aim to care for patients with compassion, dignifty and respect and I sincerely apologise that we did not achieve this for you.

We would welcome the opportunity to investigate your concerns in more detail and, if you feel that would be helpful, please feel free to contact me either by email, linda.russell7@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or by phone on 01563 826210.

With best wishes,

Linda

Dear Irvin540,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that you tried to take your own life. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult this time has been for you. I hope that you are beginning to feel better and are getting the support you need.

I am sorry to hear about your in hospital experience and it is good to see that they have reached out to you to talk. However I am extremely pleased to read that one of our crews treated you well and your experience with the Ambulance Service was a good one. If you would like, we can pass your kind words on to the crew. I’m order to do this, I would just need to know the date, time and location that we attended as well as your name. That will allow us to find the job and identify the crew. If you wish for this to happen you can send these details to SAS.feedback@nhs.scot. If you do decide to do this, I wonder if you would be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username. That way the team can easily link your email to this story,

I wish you all the best and I hope that you feel better soon.

Kind Regards

Alan
