"Care at a&e for broken ankle"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care)

(as a parent/guardian),

I was in A& E with my daughter at the start of August for a broken ankle. My daughter was in a lot of pain very distressed and very scared. We got called through by a student nurse think her name was Emmy or Demmi. She was very pleasant and helped make my daughter comfortable she could see she was very distressed and in pain and manage to arrange some pain relief with a nurse and brought in a book and some colouring things for my daughter to play with and even offered her a snack. We are very grateful for the time and care the student gave to us if she hadn’t noticed my daughters distress I feel this would have been a very different experience but my daughter left happy with a smile on her face in hand with a new book!

Dear deltagc93

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your daughter's experience in A&E.

I am so pleased that the student nurse was able to make a difference in what must has been a traumatic time for you and your daughter and hope that she is well on the way to recovery.

I will make sure that the student receives a copy of your feedback to acknowledge the great job she did.
