"Hospital referral"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Medical emergency assessment unit (MEAU)

(as a service user),

I had an operation 2.5 yrs ago. The same problem started again, operation 3 months ago. Nurse been dressing it, go not happy when saw it Monday referred to seau on Tuesday am to be told in no uncertain terms that there was nothing wrong with the area concerned and to go home.

I have had an inflamed bowel since the 2nd op, and on examination this produced blood, but still kicked out and told nothing wrong.

Absolutely disgusted by this treatment

Dear Chrmil23

We want you to know that we are very grateful for your feedback; unfortunately our services are under significant pressure at the moment with many staff redeployed from their usual roles to help out and this is likely to mean a delay in our response. We apologise for this but want to assure you we will come back to you. Thank you again.

Jennie

Dear Chrmil23

I am really sorry that you did not have a good experience when attending SEAU - I will share your concerns with my team. Each patient is assessed on our ward by either a Doctor or a Surgical Advanced Nurse Practitioner and they will decided on any treatment or investigations that may be required. I understand that in this instance the outcome of your assessment was not what you expected - thank you for your feedback and I hope that your wound and general health have improved.
