I came into hospital on a Tuesday morning. On the Monday evening I took a pain and I nearly blacked out - I thought I was just tired so I went to bed. At 3am I woke up with the same terrible pain, I went to the bathroom and collapsed. I was terrified and I pulled the emergency cord. An ambulance came after about 30 mins and they brought me into the hospital. The paramedics were so kind and they were absolutely marvelous.
I have since learned that I have an irregular heart beat and also a lung infection so I am now on penicillin and another medication to help with my heart.
The ladies on the ward with me are amazing. I was so lucky to end up with them. I have had a better social life in the past 5 days than I have in the past 18 months. We all have quite similar personalities and get on with each other like a house on fire.
The nurses are all wonderful. The level of care I have received has been outstanding. They are treating me well. It is truly wonderful here. Mark is absolutely fabulous and brings a smile to my face whenever I see him. All the nurses are very attentive as well.
The food here is great as well, which I didn't expect given everything you hear about hospital food, but I'm telling you now, they're wrong.
Derek the physiotherapist has also been a great help, he has been a lovely gent and has arranged for carers to come in and help me out at home when I am discharged.
The amount of support I have received over the past week has been phenomenal, people don't realise how good the NHS is until they really need it.
Thank you so much to everyone who has treated or looked after me in the past week
