About: Victoria Hospital / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS)

I was referred to the ECDC by GP. I was contacted by a cancer specialist nurse very quickly and we had a chat about my symptoms. I was then phoned with the date of CT scan on the same day and was given my results 2 days after my scan. Thankfully I don't have cancer and the prompt contact with my results completely relived how anxious I was feeling. From when I was contacted by the nurse I had had my scan and was given my results within 10 days which is excellent!   The staff were very nice, polite and helpful. Everything was explained fully to me and I can't think of any bad things to say about the service.

Dear ECDC

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of our Early Cancer Diagnostic Service. One of the aims of our service is to offer patient's a prompt diagnostic service as we know this is a worrying time for you. I am delighted that in addition to a prompt service all our team were helpful, polite and professional as person centred compassionate care is important to us. our team will be delighted with your feedback and I will share with the team
