"Covid testing centre"

About: NHS Fife / COVID-19 Vaccination Service

(as a service user),

I had the 'pleasure' of attending one of the covid test centres for the first time today, this was at the mobile testing centre in Cowdenbeath. It was not for myself, but I had to take my two young children to be tested after being contacted.

The service was ran smoothly, I was quickly directed to where I needed to go and guided on how to do the test.  The process was clearly explained to me, and the staff helped me to carry out the tests which I was finding particularly tricky and stressful to do with 2 emotional children!
I felt that the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and took a real effort to talk us through everything and reassure me, and my children, at all points throughout the process and try to keep them as calm as possible.  I was really grateful for them making this quite negative experience, as positive as it could have been for us all.
I feel that there is not enough positive recognition for the amazing staff we have working in the NHS - and this was an excellent example of the care and commitment of the people who carry out these roles and they should be reminded of this.
