"Great care during the pandemic"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Endoscopy General Practices in Grampian

(as a service user),

At the start of the pandemic, I was feeling pretty unwell and began to notice blood when I used the toilet. Not pleasant and a bit of a scare at anytime - never mind when the world was on lockdown. Luckily, the team at Links Medical Practice responded quickly to my E-Consult, and saw me in person very shortly afterwards. I was then referred for an urgent colonoscopy. Naturally, I was very nervous about the procedure, and how Covid19 may have made things different. I didn't need to be worried, as the team in endoscopy were really friendly and put me at ease straight away.

I just want to thank everyone at Links Medical Practice  and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for being so positive, supportive and patient, and allowing me to easily access the care I needed, when I needed it the most.

Good afternoon,

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. I was delighted to read of your pleasant experience during your visit to the Endoscopy Unit.

A colonoscopy is not the most pleasant of procedures, and of course as you mention with the added anxieties around COVID-19, I can imagine this must have been a very difficult time for you.

I am very glad that the team took such good care of you, and I will be sure to share this with them. I am certain this will bring some positivity to the team during a time where there is so much pressure on the service.

Many thanks again,

Karin
