A procedure whereby a camera is inserted into the stomach to detect any problems.
I received the forms requesting me to attend knock bracken health care park for a covid test check which I complied with.
I then went to the RVH for my appointment which had been brought forward from 2.00pm to 1.15pm due to a cancellation
I waited outside the ward with other people. There were not enough seats so I had to stand leaning against a wall until I was called at 1.45pm. I had followed procedures so far according to the letter.
The nurse went through the various processes of confirming my identity, blood pressure etc. Then she asked had I been fasting. I replied that there was nothing on the letter telling me to do this.
Anyhow I couldn't have the procedure because I had eaten some fruit for my breakfast.
So now I have to go through the whole process of having a covid test and isolating again before the actual procedure. All because a line on a letter advising you to fast from the night before was Missing! Yet another missed appointment! Could someone who is responsible for devising the forms could add 1 line on the form stating to fast from the night before. It may reduce the backlog increasing as the staff are doing their best in extreme circumstances. It wasn't the fault of the staff on duty but whoever compiled the forms. I'm sorry to have to write this but I thought it may be productive.
