"Day surgery"

Two weeks ago I attended the Day Surgery Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. From the moment I arrived late morning to when Was discharged in the evening, the care and attention I received all the staff - doctor, anaesthetist, and nurses was exceptional. Putting me at ease and explaining the procedure. I also received a follow up call the following day. For this I would like to express my sincere thanks. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of pain and discomfort in the week after my surgery which required a GP visit and was diagnosed with an infection. If I was to make one suggestion is that I wasn’t prepared for the recovery and maybe the hospital could consider producing a fact sheet when patients are discharged from day surgery with information on recovery and things to look out for. I found online a number of these produced by other hospitals for my particular surgery which I found very helpful. I appreciate the Unit provides patients with a copy of a letter to their GP and deals with different types of surgery but something targeted would, I think, be beneficial to patients.
