"Awful experience"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Was sent to MDU yesterday for a bleeding stomach ulcer from St Cross and have left at 4am this morning, having been left in MDU in a chair all night as there were no beds! No hot food was provided. A poor nurse had to get me two sandwiches, one with white bread, which I can't eat. You could see the staff were visibly overstretched and no one was could do anything to help the situation. As a result four of us left and went home. I've never seen anything like it. It's time this trust woke up to realise they simply cannot support all of the residents in the whole of Coventry and Warwickshire with just one major hospital and a few small ones. St Cross needs expanding urgently! I really feel for the staff and patients. They are being very much let down.
