"First Colonoscopy"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Endoscopy and day care

(as a service user),

Went to Forth Valley hospital today for a colonoscopy as a result of small traces of blood found in my biennial bowel cancer test.

Heard all the usual horror stories about Moviprep and colonoscopy procedures, but the Moviprep is nothing more than a means to flush out the bowel and I could do it again without any concerns.

The experience and care in the hospital was way beyond my initial expectation (mild fear!) Staff were reassuring, supportive and just outright kind from start to finish. Diane, Emma & Pamela made me feel very relaxed through the colonoscopy. These ladies were simply brilliant and a credit to the NHS. I feel sure that many patients in the Forth Valley hospital receive similar treatment, but today was about me and I was so satisfied, I had to write this review.

Very well done to all who are connected to this brilliant department

Thank you so much for your feedback following your visit to the endoscopy department.

I understand that although the bowel preparation may not always be pleasant, it is often a necessary and essential part of the preparation for the procedure.

Staff in the department do try to support patients during their time in the department prior to, during and after their procedure. Your kind words that staff were reassuring and supportive are great to read.

I have shared your feedback with staff in the department.

Thanks again.
