I would like to send a huge thank you to everyone in the Ophthalmology Department. I had a problem with my eye (a sudden large floater) and as I am very short-sighted, I tried to get an ACES appointment with an optician but to no avail. I was directed to contact A&E but contacted the Department direct on the off-chance. I was quickly booked in for an afternoon appointment that day and I am so grateful for that, especially as I know the pressure everyone in the NHS is under at the moment. After scans and a thorough examination by the doctor, no retinal tear was detected, so a huge sigh of relief. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to all the staff involved. This is the second time I've had occasion to visit the Department for an acute problem and the care is exemplary.
