About: Chapeltown Family Surgery

(as a service user),

I’ve recently registered with this surgery, having not been registered with a GP for many years due to very destructive experiences with the NHS, and refusal of GP services. I was very, very trepiditious as all my very limited NHS contacts over the past few years have only resulted in making me more ill, terrified and and even removing the possibility of safe, accurate healthcare outside the UK. However, I found the individual I was mainly in contact with to be professional, looking for solutions to barriers whilst being clear on limitations of what could be done.   As a consequence, I am now registered with this surgery and it does seem that this might have been accomplished with consideration given to things which are very dangerous to me. Although the technology and processes that they have in place mean that that NHS healthcare is still inaccessible to me, just having a registered GP address is not something that I will take for granted. Many people don’t realise how this is such an essential requirement for so much even outside of healthcare and welfare.   I fully acknowledge that this is all possible due to the reception / admin staff at this practice.   Thank you.

It’s amazing how much difference one person can make and how their departure can change things. I wouldn’t write the above now.
