"Cancer."

About: Community Services / Bladder & Bowel Care North Devon District Hospital / Cancer Services North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I have to go back 25 years when I suffered my first bout of cancer (testicular) and with three difficult chemo sessions after the op I eventually came though, phew!

Then in February 2021 it returned (massive high grade bladder tumour this time) so here we go again I thought LOL!

So far the ops and BCG chemo have been just about okay and not suffered greatly this time - but my mindset is really focused on "I don't have time for this Cancer nonsense", I'm far too busy with living life, running my business and motorcycling to be bothered with this time wasting intrusion on my life, I'm 63 and many others have had much worst than me especially when I think of all the little ones that have known nothing other than pain & suffering.

I have to say that the nurses, doctors and all other NHS staff have been wonderful and taken super care of me and I've tended to keep bright & cheerful and together we've all laughed in the face of this horrible ailment.

A million cheers to the NHS for all their hard work and lets do our best to keep them safe, healthy and above all ~ happy :-)

I am sorry to hear that your cancer has recurred but your positive take on this is really inspiring and has, I am sure, helped you through this difficult period of treatment. Update posted by Steve.E (the patient)

Hello, Pippa, Paula and Tara,

thank you for your replies, we're only here for a short time and need to generate & share as much happiness as we can.:-)

I may be back in Lundy after a routine check next month Tara, my visit will be just a few hours if all clear so may not need an overnight stay... will have to see.

Love to you all.
